Things that make me happy:

- having such nice weather that we can leave our back door open for kids and puppy (but no bugs yet) to go in and out freely.

- seeing the puppy choose to be outside the door when he relieves himself

- being able to understand Camille's way of saying "Marching Dinosaurs" when she wants to listen to the Laurie Berkner CD.

- hearing the enthusiasm in Kilian's voice when he 'knows' he found a dinosaur bone by digging in the back yard.

- figuring out that homemade chicken fried steak made with whole grain flour is actually really good.

- celebrating my sweet husband's birthday by getting to eat grilled salmon at my parents in about an hour from now!!

Happy Birthday Brad!

I guess we have a super delegate over here

Lucy can to me saying "it isn't fair, Kilian won't let me watch me movie I picked". He told me "they voted" and his movie won. I asked how he could win if there were only two people voting. His response?

"I told her to pick a number from 1 to 10 for the number of votes. She picked 9 and I picked 10, so my movie wins. It's fair."

p.s. No one in this house votes on the democratic ticket. I only know about the super delegates because I've been listening to a lot of talk radio in the car lately.

Post Easter Update

Darren is doing much better now and got to leave the hosptial on Saturday (Yay!)! Thanks for your prayers.

While we were there, we made it to the Houston zoo, went on a boat ride with Pawpaw, and after Camille was over strep, the six cousins really enjoyed some play time together. We didn't take Pippin with us, and the little guy really grew over the 8 days we were gone!

My laptop power cord is out of commission for now. It sparks and hisses at me, so I'm out of luck until I replace it. This trusty old desktop can't communicate with my camera - so I'll post some pictures later.

It's back to school for the kids and Brad tomorrow!

Prayer Request

Brad's brother, Darren, is in the hospital after what seems to have been a heart attack. He is very young and this has caught us all by surprise. He had severe chest pain for several days before the cause was determined. After after 48 hours of a heart attach at work and home, he has now had stints put in. Please pray for a speedy recovery!

We are in Houston now, although unable to help entertain our nephews (Darren's boys) much because we found out Camille has strep about an hour after we got here. Hopefully it won't spread around - especially to those visiting Darren in the hospital.

In the meantime, we'll just try to enjoy this very nice springtime weather at Grammy and Pawpaw's.

Have a nice spring break!

Even more in common...

These two don't just like the same kind of books. Sometimes they both like to cry in the middle of night for something or other.

They both like to keep each other company during the day. (not looking like spring here yet).

They both like to mess with my laptop while I try to type, both are teething, and both think these are pretty yummy.

Time Warp

I can't explain it, but even though we only moved our clocks ahead by 1 hour, we had 2 out of 3 kids still awake in their beds at 11 pm and it is not because they are used to staying up until 10 on a school night. It is also not because they took nice long naps in the afternoon.

They should have been in bed by 8, but made it there around 9.

6:40 am is going to be soooo painful for everyone involved around here!

Same taste

What do this

and this

have in common?

they both like to damage the same kind of book. That's what.

Someone found the tub of dress up clothes...and shoes.
