Shallow, but exciting

Growing hair has never been

Camille's forte
(I've never trimmed her bangs)
but we have finally reached the point

where we can

do some fun, girlie things

so that her hair matches
her fun, girlie personality!

I call it art

I got lots of things done during the day today (it is after midnight now), but the kitchen was not one of them.

So when I went in to tackle it tonight, I noticed how colorful my not-so-rare mountain of dishes was. The pile is no longer, and I only have have an empty, white-ish space on our counter top to look at now. How boring.

After school treat

Lucy is so happy to see Oliver after school that she asks to hold him
before she even asks me "what's for snack?"

There is just not enough room for those cheeks!

The wait is over!

Hand-me-down rain boots: received last December

Hand-me-down rain coat: received 2 weeks ago

Light rain without lightening before bedtime = a happy Lucy.

I'll get the stamp and envelope ready

I try to limit the "screen time" our kids get each day (t.v., computer, dvd player, etc.) and Kilian has learned to plan ahead. He knew that WIPEOUT came on last night, so he skipped watching his usual afternoon PBS shows so that he could enjoy the only prime time show that interests him.

You can imagine how disappointed he was to find a presidential address about health care on at 7 pm instead. I saw that they just bumped WIPEOUT to 8 and told him not to worry.
So at 8 pm, Obama is still talking and Pelosi is still jumping up out of her seat to clap and bedtime is quickly approaching...Kilian says, and I am quoting him exactly,
"Obama is the worst president ever! Can he really do this? Can people write him a letter and ask him to not come on tv when WIPEOUT is on?"

Two Sisters

Poor baby boy.
This is what happens when you have two big sisters.
You have to sit in a purple Bumbo seat and hold naked baby dolls.
Lucy and Camille have been getting along exceptionally well the last few days. Either that or I have only been taking pictures when they were and I've forgotten about the times they don't.
Lucy gave Camille a first lesson in riding with training wheels.

She even let Camille wear the princess helmet.

Yesterday they were at it again. Camille loves the little compartment in her tricycle.

It holds very important accessories.
Enough accessories for two girls.

Deep thoughts with Pippin

All trees have bark.
All dogs bark.
Therefore, all dogs are trees.
The fallacy of barking up the wrong tree.

What does a dog do on his day off? He can't lie around - that's his job.

Waiting for Noni

When Camille heard that my mom was on her way to drop something off the other day, she did what most people know...while her hair was still wet from a bath, she put on her Hello Kitty panties (and nothing else), grabbed a chair, and sang her heart out into a toy microphone right by the front door.
